World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The item upgrade lets players boost the gear rating of an item up 700 points and also add a bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory and heading to the kiln.

The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which will allow you to stay ahead in frigid conditions with a large group of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded as high as +20 defense to ensure you're able to withstand a rout with your friends.
Note that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to focus on enhancing it to increase physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power when you're Mage. Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are first upgraded before their secondary gear and other equipment that they won't replace anytime soon (such as rings or cloaks).
